080 BORDERLAND [PART I]:
This episode marks the first appearance of Arik Soong, and his Augment "children" Malik, Saul & Persis. All return in the following episode (081 "Cold Station 12").
Trip & T'Pol briefly discuss T'Pol's marriage to Koss, and reference their recent visit to Vulcan, seen in the previous episode (079 "Home"). T'Pol says that Vulcans don't have honeymoons and that after her wedding she went to Mount Seleya, alone, to meditate. This is but one of several Enterprise references to Mount Seleya, which was first introduced as a major plot point in "Star Trek III: The Search For Spock", as the location of Spock's fal-tor-pan ceremony. I find these references to Mount Seleya to be fantastic continuity; bringing Enterprise further into the Trek fold, and adding meaning to the film which originated the concept.
This episode also marks the first chronological appearance of, or reference to, The Orion Syndicate.

Engineer Alex returns in this episode; he was last seen in Season 3 (071 "Damage"). He returns later this season (086 "Daedalus").

Corporal Kelly makes his final appearance here; he was last seen earlier this season (078 "Storm Front, Part II"). While this is Kelly's last official appearance, his Mirror Universe counterpart can be seen later in the season (095 "In A Mirror, Darkly - Part II").
